Watersports are a major form of recreational activity on the beaches of Barbados and as such, there are numerous sporting activities to choose from.
Amongst the most popular are Jet Skis, which are available for rent from most bays, beaches and coves along the coast. Kayaking over the colourful coral reefs with enchanting marine life below, is also a favorite activity of from abroad.
Barbados also offers a multi-faceted underwater world. The crystal clear waters are perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving, with visibility between 80 to 100 feet for most of the year. There are barrier reefs located between a half mile off shore, as well as numerous shipwrecks excellent for diving.
Carlisle Bay, with 200 reported wrecks, and the Stavronikita, located at Folkestone Marine Park, are two of the most popular sites.
Fustic has a small virtually uninhabited beaches 5 minutes walk from the West Gate.
